Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CSW/Housing Liaison to join our team. In this vital role, you will facilitate access to housing resources for individuals and families in need, acting as a bridge between clients and various service providers. Your expertise will play a crucial role in empowering our clients to achieve stable and sustainable housing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess client needs and eligibility for housing programs and services, providing tailored assistance to each individual or family.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local housing agencies, landlords, and community organizations to ensure a comprehensive support network.
- Facilitate housing applications and documentation processes, ensuring timely submission and follow-up on all necessary paperwork.
- Conduct regular home visits and assessments to monitor client progress and provide ongoing support and resources.
- Organize and participate in workshops and informational sessions to educate clients about housing rights, responsibilities, and available resources.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create individual service plans that address both housing and social service needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files, documenting client interactions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with organizational policies.
- Advocate for clients in housing negotiations, mediating disputes with landlords or service providers as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in social work, case management, or housing services.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with case management software.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to client advocacy and empowerment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications such as Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Certified Housing Counselor (CHC).
- Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income families, individuals experiencing homelessness, or those with special needs.
- Knowledge of local housing laws, tenant rights, and community resources.
